June 2013 debuts her first ever cover for US Vogue, the magazine bestowing her the rather lofty title of “the hottest supermodel on earth.” In short messy curls and on-trend vintage swimwear cuts, Upton really is a long way from Sports Illustrated.
These kind of theatrical, grandiose shoot concepts seem to often be reserved for the pages of US Vogue and the creative eye of Grace Coddington. Despite having amazing gowns and opulent 1920s styling, the star power of Carey Mulligan, and the lens of Mario Testino, this one somehow falls a little flat and feels a little too staged.
