In Raquel Zimmermann‘s reality she’s decked out in head-to-toe Marc Jacobs, traversing the escalators of a shopping mall. But in her imagination, in her fantasy – perhaps even someone else’s – the accessories are the only thing she’s wearing. In Nick Knight’s video, the scenes cuts between the clothed reality and the naked one, focussing on the accessories as the object fetish for which all…

We’ve certainly looked at allegations of photo shoots being a little more than inspired by other works before now, but this one is a little different. Photographer Steven Meisel is oddly being accused of copying himself. Crocheting softness and constructive lace give a full reign for sensuality and body conscious forms in Animale’s spring 2011 collection. Raquel Zimmermann as the face of the ad campaign transforms into a modern nymph surrounded by a blurred white backdrop. As the energizer model she balances in a skilful and graceful manner between two surfaces – poetic lace and tender uniformity. Raquel who has a…

A tribute to Alexander McQueen‘s artistic output presented in Vogue US is an awe-inspiring retrospective of the stellar career, and a thorough preview of the upcoming Savage Beauty exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute on May 4th. Alexander the Great is a beautiful story of the fashion pioneer and Enfant Terrible in one. Following the meaning of this figurative title, Alexander undeniably…
