As impassioned as a romance-novel cover, but twice as fashionable

This ad just proved something, to me at least. For a campaign to immediately hit you in that woah-should-I-be-looking-at-this-at-work kind of way that might make you blush if someone was standing over your shoulder (because, frankly, it’s just a little too hot), it doesn’t necessarily need to have Terry Richardson’s smut-tastic hallmarks all over it. Somehow Donna Karan’s fall 2013 campaign starring Catherine McNeil feels…

Miranda Kerr covers Purple

Not all legs can look long, lean and sexy in a pair of kitten heels; but then of course not everyone has legs like Miranda Kerr. She covers the latest issue of Purple in a daringly slit dress.

Sensual, not sexual, in Purple Fashion

You wouldn’t call Ola Rindal’s shoot for Purple Fashion glossy or over-produced. There’s no heavy-handed photoshopping or complex studio lighting. You might even call it raw and natural-feeling. But it’s not the kind or raw you’d most commonly associate with Purple Fashion because it’s not the Terry Richardson kind. It’s got a hint of sensuality, a dabble of nudity, yes – but it’s executed with…

Miranda Kerr poses and plays nurse to Terry Richardson

It’s very easy to get caught up in the strange things Terry Richardson does, and the discussion about whether or not they actually constitute fashion (or art of any kind). So let’s not go down that track right now in relation to the video he posted of Miranda Kerr administering a B12 shot direct to his backside. Instead here are the photos of he took…

Elegance, Terry Richardson and Jess Hart

You could be forgiven for mistaking Pour La Victoire for a pricey European fashion house if this image of Jess Hart is the first you’ve seen from the brand. That’s probably their intention, and while elegance and Terry Richardson are not necessarily two things you’d associate with each other, elegance and Terry Richardson were both more than present for this shoot.

Spot the Gwen Stafani: Harper’s Bazaar plays hide and seek

Very nearly lost beneath a giant pink flower (the same, it would seem, from Alexis Mabille’s spring 2012 couture collection) and a mass of text, Gwen Stefani plays hide-and-seek on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar’s September 2012 issue. The issue is titled “The Fashion Issue”. Is it just us, or does that seem a bit redundant for a fashion magazine?

Cara, Charlotte & Kelly by Terry Richardson: i-D covers

Always finding new ways to enact their trademark wink on their covers, i-D’s pre-fall 2012 issue sees faces obscured by a baseball cap, stuffed toy, and giant slice of pizza. Cara Delevingne, Charlotte Free and Kelly Mittendorf feature on the covers themed around youthfulness, photographed by Terry Richardson. View the other two after the break.
