She believes in silver linings

Maybe it’s because she appears to have been traveling all across the universe, sporting visible marks that speak aloud about another kind of reality, or perhaps it’s because she appears to belong to another dimension all together, but something about Melissa Tan’s silver-stained beauty screams otherworldly, and in more ways than the obvious. Being photographed in timeless black and white by JC adds to the…

Alexander McQueen A/W ’14 look book

The extraordinary detailing and ethereal qualities of Sarah Burton’s fall / winter 2014 designs for Alexander McQueen can be seen all the more closely in the collection’s simply photographed look book. But in the black and white palette, the practical hemlines and modern cuts is also a very evident wearability. Even the exaggerated voluminous sleeves and embellished evening gowns look magically understated.

Striped: Luis Borges off duty at ModaLisboa

I first shot Luis Borges at last season’s ModaLisboa, standing out from the crowd courtesy his unique sense of personal style. The same could be said for Luis yesterday at day 1 of the Lisbon fashion week’s spring 2015 edition. Bold stripes, oversized cuts and a hint of gold jewellery were all so right for that modelesque face and cool fuzz of black hair.

Strikingly effortless, gracefully edgy

It’s like the best of two worlds melted in order to shape up the portrait of the modern-day woman, the one who knows how to be equal parts graceful and edgy, striking and effortless, confident and delicate. She’s the one to make a statement out of utter simplicity, and a point out of beauty, and when photographed in black and white, she puts everything in…

Daniela De Jesus Cosio is like a glamazonian superhero

On Daniela De Jesus Cosio’s glamazonian body, any styling would do. She’s all slender and elongated and possessive of that envied thigh gap the internet is always up in arms about. But while Daniela could look glamorous in a paper bag, this is a team effort. Pierre Dal Corso‘s latest shoot for Galore Mag is about bringing together Daniela’s natural beauty with the kind of…

Caught in the sweet embrace of the sixties

Past melting into present, perhaps the present eager to be immersing in the past for there’s a distinct beauty describing the enticing juxtaposition of old and new in the retro-fused editorial photographed by Thom Kerr for Black Magazine. Twiggy eyes but a hint more subtle, colour blocking done with modern conviction, psychedelic prints and ’60s silhouettes polished to perfection are sure to blur the lines…

10 breathtaking gowns from Paris fashion week

There’s something about Paris that inevitably pushes your thoughts towards the floor-sweeping gowns barely touching ground in their motion, towards the most elaborate of the embroideries adorning ethereal fabrics in their weaving of modern fairy tales, towards silhouettes so dreamy they appear to be crafted somewhere out of this world. In keeping up with the fantasy, the 10 most breathtaking gowns to have walked the…

Miranda Kerr rocks Stuart Weitzman’s ‘Nudist’ heels

Miranda Kerr is no stranger to going nude, but that’s not what her appearance at yesterday’s Stuart Weitzman event was all about. Kerr was wearing Weitzman’s minimal ‘Nudist’ sandals – along with an asymmetrical black dress – to the launch of the brand’s latest short film, which was directed by Julia Restoin Roitfeld.
