Pirelli calendar 2015: first look

Oh, the Pirelli calendar. How many people in the world know more of the beautiful, semi-naked models and famed photographers that are drawn together annually than they do about the fact that Pirelli makes tires? The calendar is an event upon itself, and 2015 brings a fetish themed star-studded set of images photographed by Steven Meisel, and styled by Carine Roitfeld. First images reveal Candice…

6 gorgeous Easter-themed retro pinups for your Sunday

Before dismissing sexy ladies in bunny ears as flippant, know that I am of course aware of the significance of Easter as an event on the religious calendar. Yes I spent my Easter Sunday morning at a historically and architecturally fascinating Portuguese church, listening to mass in a language I couldn’t quite understand. Outside the pews the original message is, as with every major Christian…

Models after Just Cavalli: street style

Milan fashion week continues, and on yesterday’s calendar was Just Cavalli’s print-filled array of fall 2014 outfits. The show featured the likes of Nastya Ksuakina, Codie Young, Anastasia Ivanova and Ewa Wladymiruk, all of whom were kind enough to pose for some street style photos post-show. Check out the gallery after the break for some of the off-duty models after Just Cavalli.

Luuk Van Os after Gucci

After walking one of the biggest shows on the Milan fashion week calendar, Luuk Van Os was looking completely at ease. He’d just stepped off the Gucci fall 2014 runway.

Galore’s ‘Erotica’ calendar boldly goes where no calendars have been before

It’s not your usual subject matter, slotting in between the ideals of fashion and the unspoken grit of fetish; and nor does it contain the usual array of slender female models. There are naked bodies, leather harnesses, stilettos and scrawled notes about sexual acts. It’s Galore Mag’s calendar for 2014, themed around Erotica (if you couldn’t tell that from one glance), and it’s comprised of…

Diesel’s Playboy calendar has plenty of nudity, not much class

Kate Moss’ Playboy photos have some genuine charm, but when you have Terry Richardson behind the lens you’re bound to end up something equally as ‘Playboy’ themed but rather a lot more… raw. This calendar for Diesel doesn’t exactly reach the same level of class as Mert & Marcus’ nudes of Moss, despite having some beautiful subjects. But then, Diesel are known for being a…

Photo diary: a fashioniser in New York; September 2013

Every fashion week has its highs. The catwalks. The parties. The people. But the fact that New York is first on the calendar of the 'big four' fashion weeks makes it a stand out for me. In being first, it gives me, anyone, the chance to travel there early. And in being early, I have chance to do more than a fashion week normally offers and to truly be a traveller in a foreign land. What follows are a few photos from New York during its spring 2014 fashion week season, all from the eye of a fashioniser.

Colours & cocktails: at Simoné Sauvage

Off calendar, but on the beaten track, Simoné Sauvage (simonesauvage.com) hosted a Paris Fashion Week shindig last night at the W Hotel that blurred presentation with party. Between Belvedere cocktails and canapés, models in spring 2014’s vibrant attire became the shifting focus of attention. Abstracted leafy green prints, blocks of vibrant cobalt blue and ruby red, thigh-grazing hems and playful cutaway details ensured every look…
