Hippie sisters: the Hemingways star in Free People’s may 2015 catalogue

Model sisters Dree Hemingway and Langley Fox Hemingway were tapped by Free People for the brand’s May 2015 catalogue. The two went on “a bonding spiritual journey through Costa Rica” all the while dressed, naturally, in free-spirited summer looks. The images were photographed by Bjorn Iooss with hair by Amy Farid and makeup by Deanna Hagan.

Free People October 2014 look book

October brings a first look at Free People’s fall / winter 2014 collection, featuring Dree Hemingway and her fictional lover in a scenic Wyoming romance. Dree wears chunky knit sweaters and flowing skirts, knee high boots, floppy felt hats and lashings of boho accessories, all topped off with autumnal statement jackets and coats.

Lindsey Wixson is Wicca and voodoo

When jewellery turned all mystic and hippie-inspired, it was ManiaMania at the fore of the trend: committed to the aesthetic like no other brand, it’s in their DNA. At once it was the raw, bohemian sensuality of Abbey Lee Kershaw fronting their campaigns, then Dree Hemingway. With a new season comes a new muse, one you might not typically associate with the brand: good girl…

Dree Hemingway and Emily DiDonato for Interview Germany

Interview Germany is coming up with not just one or two but three covers for their September 2013 issue, with supermodels Dree Hemingway and Emily DiDonato, as well as singer, actress and fashion muse Charlotte Gainsbourg (see her’s here) as cover girls who are portraying different looks. Emily is sporting a Prada look and wet hairstyle on this cover story that was photographed by Giampolo Sgura and Dree is wearing a…

Dree Hemingway after Balmain

Dree Hemingway may have been wearing an ornately embellished Balmain jacket to sit front row at the brand’s spring 2013 Paris fashion week show; but she knows how to dress something down to a cool level. Simply pair it with a t-shirt, a beanie and a pair of Raybans.

Dree Hemingway, bodypaint and Astral Planes: ManiaMania (video)

Each ManiaMania collection of jewellery is accompanied by a description of its inspirations that’s just about as mystical and cryptic and open to interpretation as the jewellery itself. Reliably there’s some inspiration drawn from the hippie days of the ‘60s and ‘70s. If it’s a fascination with spiritualism or surrealism or religious cult it’s the fascination revived from the way it was in those free-loving…

Dree Hemingway and horses: weekend watch

There’s nothing that strikes you as particularly equestrian about a floor-length embellished lace gown. Not in the sense that you’d pull on a pair of boots with it and hit the riding track, anyway. If there’s any link between horses and Ermanno Scervino’s evening gowns its that they both have a dark, slinky elegance: the rippling muscle of an equine beast and the shimmering fabric…

Dree Hemingway: mud, skin and witchcraft for ManiaMania

The product and the imagery are always in fierce competition with any ManiaMania campaign. In this campaign, as with all the previous, you get swept up in the mood; the mystical, sensual mood. And as you’re being swept away on the white-water rush of dreamy imagery, your eyes scramble to fixate on the jewellery and accessories that should be the true stars of the campaign.…

Romance on the Aegean sea

This is the kind of story that doesn’t have to have a happy ending. In fact, the mood is such that you can imagine a deep yet tumultuous romance that was great while it lasted but that ended with the fading of the Aegean summer. Like flicking through an album filled with memories that are twice as sweet because they’ll never, ever be repeated; like…

Hugo Boss Orange: surprisingly cheeky

There’s so much playful tomfoolery going on in this campaign that you might mistake it for one of Diesel‘s Be Stupid offerings. Only this is a campaign that is sans brightly coloured, blocky slogans. The campaign is actually for Hugo Boss Orange – the fashion house’s more urban, more casual line. And it’s one of those cases where the quirkiness of the campaign outshines the…
