What Lara Stone dreams about

Be careful what you wear to sleep / You never know who you could meet. So cautions this i-D magazine editorial by David Bailey. In each shot Lara Stone is transformed into a girl of the dreamscape, styled by Charlotte Stockdale into some practical outfits and some not-so-practical ones. Each shot is sloganned with a rhyming couplet of Shakespearean elegance… like “I dreamt I rang…

Lessons in fetish: Lara Stone

What this Vogue Japan shoot lacks (to my eye at least) in emotion it makes up for in sex appeal. Lara Stone is the bombshell at the heart of it all, and gives off only icy stares that place her, strict and dominatrix-like, amidst the continued editorial theme of fetish and fashion. But you can’t fault her Goddess form or the way she carries off…

Lara Stone: the little Dutch girl

You wouldn’t really think that Lara Stone could look anything but the pinnacle of supreme stylishness… but then along comes this editorial from the New York Times T Magazine and that notion is shattered. There stands Lara in a knee-length dark denim skirt and oversized top printed with flowers, the kind your grandma might have given you back in 1994. But here’s the odd and…

More Pirelli previews

There’s no calendar quite as anticipated as Pirelli’s. Perhaps that’s because, year after year, it manages to bring together top models, top photographers, and plenty of skin. With Mario Sorrenti behind the lens the 2012 Pirelli Calendar promises to be no different. We’ve already seen a few preview images, courtesy of Vanity Fair; now there’s a further taste of the results of the photography session…

Lara to Liz: more from V

One of the great things about V Magazine’s homage to Elizabeth Taylor is the inclusion of the little snippets and quotes that pepper the editorials. Even from those few words here and there can you get a sense of the colourful life she led. The issue is covered by Kate Winslet but inside the pages do many a model and celebrity have their skin powdered,…

First look: Kate Moss in Pirelli calendar

It’s the fashion calendar to get your hands on, and yet the 2012 Pirelli calendar shows little in the way of fashion. Or, more realistically, it shows little in the way of what most people consider to be ‘fashion’: clothes and accessories. Instead the coveted calendar plays to the concepts of fashion and lifestyle, fashion and sensuality, and fashion as youth. The task of realising next year’s…

Daisy Lowe does Playboy: photos revealed

When it comes to nudity in her work, model Daisy Lowe is certainly no stranger or wallflower. Nor are other models strangers to Playboy magazine – we’ve seen the likes of Lily Cole and Lara Stone featured within its pages, while from another part of the fashion industry Karl Lagerfeld has tried his hand at photographing for the title. Yet the now-revealed collaboration between Daisy…

Tom Ford & Lara Stone: Violet Blonde

Details on its composition are scant, but one thing we do know of Tom Ford‘s forthcoming Violet Blonde fragrance is that supermodel Lara Stone is fronting the campaign. Lara is, of course, the face of Tom Ford’s beauty campaign for fall 2011, while Candice Swanepoel fronts his womenswear offering.

What lies beneath: a dark exploration

“The candle-buds opened their wide white flowers… Their scent spilled out into the air and took possession of the island.” Occasionally a fashion editorial that has precious little to do with fashion slips its way into the pages of a magazine. Often their title pages will spout quotes from famed literary works, or they’ll come tackling serious social issues, or perhaps they’ll use nudity instead…

Lara Stone, still delicious

It looks as if I was previously mistaken when I speculated that Lara Stone had been replaced as the face of DKNY’s delicious campaign. Her absence seems to have been a temporary one, instead Lara and her apples have been re-dubbed as “Golden Delicious” for Donna Karan’s latest fragrance campaign.
