The stars are calling her name

If dressing like a star is the first step to becoming one then Milagros Schmoll, in Pierre Dal Corso‘s latest shoot, is destined for the highest heights. And that’s on two levels, thanks to Emeline Piot’s styling. In glittering sequins and leather harnesses studded in metal she’d be right at home in the twinkling night sky, a star among stars. But in the figurative sense…

Faceless beauty stalks the pages of Schön

Edgy, sexy, visually compelling. All adjectives that apply, unfailingly, to Pierre Dal Corso’s (pierredalcorso.com) work. His latest shoot strikes its magic into the pages of Schön! Magazine’s 19th issue, with model Jessiann Gravel morphing from strong-featured beauty into anonymous mannequin depending on Emeline Piot’s styling.

And God created the bombshell blonde: Valerie Van der Graaf

When Anita Ekberg waded out into the Trevi Fountain in her black strapless gown, or Brigitte Bardot danced the Mamba with no shoes but plenty of passion, men of the day lost their breaths – and still do more than 50 years later. Dutch model Valerie Van Der Graaf has the blonde hair, the bombastic curves, the inherent sex appeal of both those 1950s bombshells,…

Ashley Smith: freckles and diamonds

Ashley Smith at times gets typecast into busty-babe roles that have her posing for Terry Richardson or looking the pinnacle of grunge-rock chic. But leave it to photographer Pierre Dal Corso to present us with one of the most beautiful shoots of Ms Smith we’ve yet laid eyes on: strikingly natural and with her unique features – her gap tooth smile, her freckles – played…

Masking it

Masks come in many forms: comical, dramatic, literal, figurative. For Masquerade Magazine Pierre Dal Corso created this photo series inspired, quite simply and appropriately, by the concept of the mask. From the superhero eye mask to some rather unconventional pieces of masquerade art, each shot is creatively styled by Lou Tardy-Joye.

Fierce, fearless, fetishist

Not to go over the top with the alliteration, but those three words do spring to mind: Fierce. Fearless. Fetishist. Pierre Dal Corso wins us over yet again with his shoot for L’Edito Magazine in which a completely transformed, pink-haired Laura Blokhina pulls strong poses that match the visual impact of Ilona Glapa’s styling without hesitation.

Life, distanced from reality

Some models are chosen to fit the concept, and some concepts are born of the model. The latter is when model transcends into muse. Inspired by Lorena, his model and muse on this shoot, Pierre Dal Corso set out to create something sexual but with a sophisticated distance; to capture the ‘animal thing’ possessed by her. We see Lorena’s naked skin, strong features, deep eyes,…

Exhibitionist tendencies

Mostly we think of exhibitionism as a desire for exhilaration, the thrill of danger, or an act designed to provoke a response. In a world of being captive by a bourgeois life, as with our protagonist of this particular shoot, it becomes instead a liberation. Rebellion is as simple as doing something that life dictates you can’t do. The styling by Delphine Dubreuil & Sarah…

Where the wild roses grow

There’s a dark, Gothic subplot that’s been weaving its way through the fashion world, season after season, morphing and evolving. And as other fashion trends take to the mainstream so are they mirrored, often, in that dark underworld. Pierre dal Corso captures the present sentiments brilliantly in a shoot for Remember Paper magazine’s third issue, bringing elements like shrouds of lace, black roses, and leggings…

Static, but not lifeless

The inspirations feeding Pierre Dal Corso‘s latest shoot were all cold, static things: porcelain dolls, wax figures, marble statues… and the colour white, presented through various shades and layers of texture that add depth to the concept. But for all of those things, for model Johanna Feldmeier’s pale skin and greyish hair, the shoot is far from lifeless.
