New York is the city in which anything goes – so it’s not surprising that the street style looks are so diverse and yet so uniformly chic. From the sporty outfits of Nike crop tops and leather boxing shorts, to the masculine tailoring influences spotted on model Saskia de Brauw, day 4 had plenty to offer. After the break, 11 looks that stood out yesterday…
Clad in Chanel, top model Saskia de Brauw appears on the cover of the December 2013 issue of Marie Claire Netherlands. The Dutch beauty further shows off the versatility of her beauty in a hair colour change – her boyish crop taking a bleached blonde turn.
Saskia de Brauw graces her second Vogue Paris cover and shows off some grungy fashion and beauty with an androgynous mood on the magazine’s September 2013 issue. The Dutch model sports newly platinum hair and a total Saint Laurent look, complete with combat boots and a bikini top.
Kate Moss and Saskia de Brauw are the newest faces for Versace fall/winter 2013 collection. Saskia represents a woman of androgynous style while Kate embodies an ultra glamorous yet punk-clad lady. This ad campaign was shot by the famous Mert & Marcus with styling of Melanie Ward and creative direction by Giovanni Bianco.
The theatrical Chanel resort 2013 collection bordered on costume, playing to the odd combination of French Revolution and modern punk. Cara Delevingne also features in the collection’s campaign – shot of course by Karl Lagerfeld – and in this instance the opulent backdrop actually makes the collection seem more at home.
A great model isn’t made by looks alone; it’s in the way he or she moves, in their expressiveness, in their chameleon ability to contort into different shapes and personas. Antidote’s accompanying video for their ‘Icons’ shoot showcases more of those qualities, leaving no doubt as to the fact that Bianca Balti, Malgosia Bela, Naomi Campbell, Saskia de Brauw, Eva Herzigova, Natasha Poly, Aymeline Valade…
They’re all models at the top of their game (or at least near enough to it), but is Antidote magazine right to call them all icons?
