Looking at Rodarte’s metallic strappy shoes, with the twisted architecture of the solid heel, you might think there were some space-age inspirations. But the inspirations were otherwise: modern, yes, futuristic, no. The label’s spring 2012 collection was inspired by the artworks of Vincent Van Gogh – so gazing upon these shoes, as well as the deep shimmery blue pair which you can see after the break, should remind one of gazing upon a starry night.
