Shoes as art: Aperlai

Leave it to an accessory brand that’s inspired by artists like Picasso, Mondrian and Pollock to come up with a shoe collection that leaves women drooling. We all love our shoes: by putting on a lovely pair of shoes, you change your entire look and Paris-based brand Aperlai knows this.

Staying true to the brand’s identity, designer Alessandra Lanvin has come up with a collection that has a story to tell. Browsing through the spring / summer 2013 look book will surely leave you in awe because what you’ll see are no ordinary shoes.

Vibrant color, strong shapes and exotic materials: who will say no to that? Each pair of shoes is gorgeous and well thought out. The collection offers variety, modern women, young and old, will surely have a shoe that will tickle their fancy. And of course, who can resist Aperlai’s signature Geisha graphic light weight heel? Wedge lovers will fall head over heels for the “cat wedge” and the “leaf wedge”, while those who can’t live without their stilettos will go gaga over “straps”. They also have a wide array of flats to choose from for those who prefer to keep it laid back.
