Sarah Jessica Parker and the Olsen twins are pushing ahead with the fur trend. Real or faux? Not sure.

I think fur can look classically elegant (not that animals should have to die) but these three above aren't quite getting it right.

fur can look good, but i think in todays day and age faux fur achieves this look just as well without having to kill animals.
On the other hand, i totally disagree with the way PETA goes about trying to discourage wearing fur. Their campaigns are terrible and they dont get the message across correctly. If they only publicised the facts seen on their website i think the statement would be alot stronger, for example:
"No federal humane slaughter law protects animals in fur factory farms, and killing methods are gruesome. Because fur farmers care only about preserving the quality of the fur, they use slaughter methods that keep the pelts intact but that can result in extreme suffering for the animals. Small animals may be crammed into boxes and poisoned with hot, unfiltered engine exhaust from a truck. Engine exhaust is not always lethal, and some animals wake up while they are being skinned. Larger animals have clamps attached to or rods forced into their mouths and rods are forced into their anuses, and they are painfully electrocuted. Other animals are poisoned with strychnine, which suffocates them by paralyzing their muscles with painful, rigid cramps. Gassing, decompression chambers, and neck-breaking are other common slaughter methods in fur factory farms."

No. There is an argument that fur obtained through humane means is OK, the only problem with that is that the source of fur is very difficult to regulate as pelts are exported all over the world. The way in which the Chinese skin live animals, including dogs and cats is disgusting. So how can one tell if your fur has been humanely treated? Besides, after seeing shocking footage I refuse to support the trade.
You can check it out here. Beware, it's very graphic.
