The mention of Phuket, Thailand, is likely to conjure up images beautiful beaches and exquisite islands. Or perhaps, depending on your youth, cheap bars and raucous clubs. Head north out of Phuket, however, and stick to the West of the mainland and you’ll soon find yourself in Phangnga. Here I stayed at Aleenta Resort having found the resort on The Luxe Nomad. Here Aleenta has a near-exclusive presence in a location away from the hustle, the city, the maddening crowds. Here there are no islands, just the infinite sprawl of the Andaman Sea. Here the beach is nearly your own, few other properties sit beside it and more dogs run along it than humans walk on its sand or splash in its waves. Here the beach is beautiful, the time peaceful.
What follows are some photos from around Phangnga and Aleenta, from the beach to the nearby marine sanctuary. You’ll find more, along with some videos, on my Instagram.
