When Kate Moss attended the Glastonbury Festival earlier in the year wearing delicately beaded capelets and boleros, we suggested that a 20s/30s vintage revival was on the way. It took a little longer to catch on than the PVC pants did, but the renaissance we predicted is finally here.
Kate continues to be the main driver of the trend, pushing it through her Topshop collection, and most recently starring in a photoshoot for December Vogue UK styled with hat tipped to the same era.

We expect the flapper revival to be in full force in 2008 - we're already seeing lots of beading, sequins and fringing in stores. The current take is less about a head-to-toe look and more about mixing it up - teaming a delicately beaded piece with this season's cropped leather jacket or patent accessories will give the flapper trend it's modern edge. After all; flappers were rebels in their day.
