Feathers: Autumn (Fall)/Winter 2009 Fashion Trend

There’s something about feathers – they conjure up images of graceful swans, of flitting sparrows, of fairytales, and the dream of flight that can only ever be a dream for we wingless creatures. As a Autumn (Fall)/Winter 2009 trend, feathers and plumes add that ephemeral touch.

What is it?

Delicate feather details on dresses, skirts, hats, and collars, seen on the Autumn-Winter runways for 2008-2009. The key to the trend is elegance: no bright pink faux-feather boas, please. Ostrich, peacock, pheasant and marabou are some favourable feathers to look out for.
