Mary Kate Olsen half-tint round sunglasses

Mary-Kate Olsen in round-framed gradient sunglassesMary-Kate Olsen has been wearing plenty of John Lennon-esque round sunglasses, a sort-of sunlasses trend that hasn’t quite made it off the ground (and we’re still waiting to see whether it will take flight in 2009).

In this pair, she’s pretty much rolled three trends into one: the round shape, the thick plastic frames, and the gradient lens. This large round shape is closer to that of last-years trend however, rather than to the smaller 1970s-style glasses she’s worn previously.

Mary-Kate isn’t the first to take this look to the streets – the Chanel half-tint sunglasses have also been spotted various times on the likes of Nicole Richie (below).

Some people's wardrobes are about a small selection of pieces that all fit within one aesthetic - Tania Braukamper isn't such a person. With a wardrobe that spans three different rooms, her approach to fashion is a mixture of current-season key pieces mixed with vintage finds she's sourced on innumerous shopping trips around the world's more cultured capitals. Despite a disparate approach to shopping, Tania is adamant that the key to mixing vintage with new season is to stick to key looks and colours that work for oneself. And it's a theory that she works into her writing for, where she serves as the publication's Editor.
