There's a distinct advantage to being a celebrity: access to the coming year's clothing trends before us mere mortals. Natalie Portman put that advantage into practice at the première for 'The Other Boleyn Girl' - stealing the spotlight by wearing the nude / see-through fashion trend.
You've got to hand it to Natalie: she's got this trend just right. After Heather Graham and Amy Winehouse got the look so wrong we'd almost lost hope. But then Diane Kruger and Heidi Klum wore it with class and while more revealing, Natalie's take on the trend proves that it takes the right person to make the sheer trend elegant.
Portman paired her sheer Rodarte dress off with oversized jewellery, not lending themselves to 2008's jewellery trends due to an interesting fantasy element.
