Legs and breasts are often a girl's best fashion accessory, but if neither are your strongest features, or you're after something a little less cliché but equally sensual, look to your shoulders and indulge in both the backless fashion trend and the one-shoulder / single-shoulder trend. Both are key components of women's Spring/Summer 2008 fashion trends and Spring/Summer 2009 fashion trends.

One-shoulder bikinis
Admittedly you're going to encounter more one-shoulder clothes as dresses, that's the nature of the current fashion market, but why limit yourself to wearing the trend in only one way?

Evolution of the One-Shoulder Trend
Like most of 2008 and 2009's fashion trends the one-shoulder trend emerged on the fashion scene in 2007 and it should come as no surprise it came courtesy of hypermodel Kate Moss. Surprisingly though, it's not because this was a look that Moss was often seen wearing, but because it featured in her Kate Moss for TopShop range (modelled right by Irina Lazareanu).
As the feature piece of Moss' first TopShop collection, it wasn't long before we saw the look on everyone from Paris Hilton, to Kate Bosworth, Mandy Moore, Mischa Barton, Michelle Monaghan (wearing a black Erin Fetherston dress), and Jessica Alba.
Come 2008, however, it was suddenly sexy Gwyneth Paltrow who made the trend stand out when she wore a one-shouldered gown to the premiére of Iron Man. The gown in concern was designed by Jean Paul Gaultier, and featured in his Spring-Summer 2008 Couture collection.

Traditionalist and futurist are two of the labels applied to Daniel, but he's in on the joke. When it comes to fashion he's a futurist, keeping a look out for new trends and designers, and using Fashionising.com as a driving force for change in the fashion world. He's a traditionalist with most everything else, but that's the Brit in him. He says: Boots for men are severely underrated. We say: It's easy to say that when you're part of the polo set. |
