They were on the Fall/Winter 2009 runways if you looked hard enough; but it was with the Spring/Summer collections that bows really reached trend status for 2009.
Bows on the runways of Chanel, Moschino, Lela Rose, United Bamboo, and Marchesa.
Not necessarily tacked on as an accessory, many of the bows for Spring/Summer 2009 were woven into the garments in interesting ways, making them part of the structure, rather than a mere embellishment. Chanel come out with some traditional uses of bows, while the likes of Marchesa opted for origami bow pieces. Lela Rose got their bow features just right - feminine, yet sassy.
Any way. There's not too many ways to get this wrong; whether an oversized feature or simple ribbon, a bow can add a nice touch to many an outfit this Spring.
