’70s Rock.

Seventies rock ‘n’ roll references collided harmoniously throughout the fall 2015 collections, where a fur overdose, glam-rock jackets, skinny pants and velvety suits set the mood all cool and unapologetic for the seasons to come:

Cinched waists.

Perhaps one of the simplest, yet most effective statements to have been made during the Fashion Week menswear shows, the cinched waists are about to become a big thing come fall, when belts of all shapes and sizes are bound to put a fresh spin on your favourite blazers, jackets and coats:

Evening glamour.

The real gentlemen will be experiencing quite the moment of glory this fall with the resurgence of evening glamour. Sharp tuxedos cut in sophisticated fabrics, topped off with silky ties and subtle bow ties are about to become the mandatory uniform for a glamorous evening soiree:

Military undertones.

For fall / winter 2015, the military influences are imagined to bear a certain kind of alluring subtlety. More of an undertone than an in-your-face kind of statement, the military trend will be recognized in either a specific shade of army green, a somber outerwear silhouette, or a quiet string of evocative details:

Grunge.

To say that grunge is coming back with a vengeance would be an understatement. For fall 2015, designers have shown a penchant for destruction with ragged hems, hole-ridden sweaters and contrasting textures carelessly sewn together defining the new take on haphazard dressing:

Furry outerwear.

Clearly having to do with the 1970s revival, more precisely with the glam-rock influences describing the very core of the era, the avalanche of fur coats and fur jackets to have taken over the fall runways puts a whole new spin on cold-weather gear:

Oversized scarves & shawls.

This fall is quite alright to leave it to your accessories to do all the talking, even more so if the accessories happen to take the guise of chunky scarves and snug, oversized shawls. They will be complementing everything in between the most laid-back and the more sophisticated of autumn looks:

Maroons.

This year’s choice of a star colour for the fall season goes perfectly hand in hand with the autumnal landscape everyone loves so much. We’re talking maroons, a myriad of its exquisite shades ranging from the dark and the faded, to the more vivid and the rich, just waiting to infuse your wardrobe with some coloring:

Graphic knits.

With knits representing perhaps the most relevant class of cold-weather staples, it is somewhat imperative for them to be reinvented season after season. In fall 2015, expect their chunkiness to be brought up-to-date with countless graphic patterns, some intricate, others chic and traditional:

Sartorial casual.

To appear effortlessly laid back, and too look all smart and sharp at the same time, might just become possible come fall, once the sartorial casual trend will have set his grounds. Dressing down to dress up will be employing some of the modern man’s favorite attributes in clothing: comfort, style and ultimate sophistication.
