Looking back over the past 5 years, it's really only the re-emergence of oversized sunglasses which have caused the biggest stir. But that doesn't mean that that you can wear any old pair in 2008. While last year's pair will get you by, that's not to say they're going to be fashionable. Instead read on to find out which styles of sunglasses you should be wearing in 2008.
2008 Jewellery Trends: What to Buy2008's trends will be all about wearing less jewelry - but being bolder and more unique. Think statement pieces and one-off show-stoppers. If you want to get yourself some new jewelry for 2008, here are the top 5 things you should be hunting down:
Sunglasses trends: aviatorsSunglasses trends went from round and oversized to rayban wayfarers (the likes of which we've seen on pretty much every celebrity and their dog). Aviators are another style that's sort of been in there the past few years, not quite dying out but not quite coming to the fore. We noticed Kirsten Dunst had recently ditched her wayfarers for an aviator style. For those in the sunny side of the world coming into the warm weather, what sort of sunglasses styles will you be wearing?
Lindsay Lohan finds a better hatI wasn't too impressed with Lindsay's choice of grandpa cap the other day (sorry Lindsay), although it seems a lot of you were much kinder. Personally I prefer Lindsay in this straw fedora-type thing she's got going on.
Lindsay Lohan in a herringbone grandpa hatFor me, Lindsay's just not rocking this grandpa cap. Even though they're cute, the grandpa cap wasn't on our list of hat trends to wear in 2007-08 because they had their day a few years ago and aren't quite ready to get another airing just yet. Well, that's to say, unless someone with more influence than Lindsay decides to bring them back.
With Lindsay being so hit and miss at the moment, the grandpa cap is likely to stay buried. Paris and her suspenders trendUh-oh. We noticed that Paris Hilton was getting confused over whether suspenders are underwear or not. We tipped that she was even trying to make them a trend. Well, as you may have seen, she used Halloween as an excuse to get her suspender belts out again.
Paris Hilton tries to make suspenders a trendThe kind of suspenders that hold up your trousers may have been a trend last year, but suspenders of the hosiery variety have never been a fashion statement. Except in Burlesque clubs or as underwear. Apparently those sort of homonyms are a bit too confusing for Paris Hilton, who has started wearing the later type out and about as if it were the normal thing to do.
Nerd chic - designer gadgets are on the riseSomebody said to me that brains are becoming the new beautiful, while I don't completely agree it seems that we're having an influx of luxe designer gadgets to fulfill our needs. It seems to have all started with the D&G V3 with the high end designer house jumping aboard the already popular Motorola phone and adding a little bling. Soon after, we saw Prada team up with LG and bring out the very chic Prada phone one of the very first to have what is quickly becoming the feature du jour: the large touch screen. Now the latest designer to throw their hat into the ring is Giorgio Armani, pairing up with Samsung to bring their offering of the new Armani phone which unsurprisingly is packing a touch screen too. To mix it up a bit they will also be bringing out a TV amongst, from what we've heard, a bevy of other household electronics.
Kate Moss wears more of the hat trendWe haven't seen a lot of Kate Moss lately - but on a few of the occasions where she has popped up from hiding, she's stuck pretty closely to her trademark style. Here she is wearing the same black fedora we wrote about recently when looking at hat trends, as well as being photographed in a straw version. Both outfits were accompanied by silver metallic flats.
Hat Trends, Part 2: Celebrity Hat WearersIf you read Hat Trends: Part 1 then you're already in the know about which hats are hot right now. You'd even know your trilby from your fedora. So, who's wearing what? The floppy wide-brimmed hats pioneered by Sienna Miller in her boho days have given way to the more structured, masculine styles like the fedora. Kate Moss and Keira Knightley, both big hat wearers, have both been spotted in fedoras lately.
