When I penned Fashionising.com's bible of hair trends for 2010 I promised one more addition to the list of 2010 hair colours. Why? I did so not because of looming deadlines, but because this particular colour trend deserved it very own article.
For the past decade century, you see, most of the fashion industry has been obsessed with blondes. Be it on models or on A listers, blondes are reputed to have more fun. Make no mistake, blonde hair isn't going anywhere with 2010 seeing both peroxide blonde and golden blonde as 'on trend'. But with the end of the 2000s and the start of the next decade it's time for the blonde bombshell to make way.
Introducing the redhead bombshell.
The start of a new year marks the opportunity for redefining one's outlook on the next 12 months. And what better way to do it then through a new hair cut, hair style, or hair colour?

There's little point in wearing clothes from 2009's fashion trends unless you have the one other major element just right: hair.
Taking their cues from 2008, in 2009 women's hair trends will play to the extremes. They might be extremely short, extremely girly, extremely sexual or extremely slick. It'll only be the bob hair cut which will sit somewhere to the left of extreme; and you're going to be hard pressed to find that hair style on fashion forward women.

Looking for women's hair styles for 2010? Then take a look at Fashionising.com's 2010 women's hair trends report. Actually, to describe this as a hair trend report is an understatement. With every key hair cut, hairstyle, and hair colour trend for 2010 described and photographed, this is the one article you must read to stay in fashion in 2010.
All fashion trends are cyclical, and in recent years have gradually modernised the looks of the 20th Century and planted them firmly in the 21st. And so too it is with men's hair trends in 2010: it's out with the new, and in with the old. Or at least an old hair style with a new twist.

2010 sees men's hair styles fall into two distinct categories: school boy and rocker. But while the rocker look is certainly a 20th Century creation, the resulting hair style finds its roots (if you'll pardon the pun) distinctly in 19th Century Britain. And so it is in 2010; while the odd 2010 runway collection featured something akin to a grunge revival, the majority of us will live out 2010 with a refined, classically inspired hair cut.

When we first mentioned Hayden Panettiere's new bob, like so many of 2008's hair trends it was met with plenty of approval. So here's another post about Hayden's hair - this time I think she looks even more stunning, wearing a sophisticated take on the red lipstick beauty trend.
Taking her hair style one step shorter, Katie Holmes has shortened her bob to a new pixie crop.
The crop is a tough one - it comes up a hair trend every once in a while, but not everyone can pull it off. If you ever even considered chopping off all your locks, now is definitely the time - the crop is high on the list of 2008's hair trends as well as 2009's hair trends.
If Katie Holmes' hairstyle shows us anything, it's how much of a difference styling can make to the crop. In 2008, it's best with a bit of length that can be messed up and tousled a bit - in the guise of effortless, boyish bed-hair. You only need to look at the following photos to see how much less effective the crop is when unstyled.
When it comes to hair trends, 2008 has in many ways been year of The Bob. Selma Blair's promotional tour for Hellboy II has seen her step out with her chin-length bob in a number of different styles - none quite so charming as this jazz-age inspired side part.
While they emerged in the midst of 2008, milkmaid braids are set to make a come-back in 2009 and figure heavily in women's hair trends.
A cute style that can be pulled off by many, there's one minor problem with milkmaid braids: you either need really long hair, or a very well-matched hair piece.
Though dirty and platinum blondes are hair colour trends of 2008, we're not quite sure Lily Allen's latest effort fits the bill. She recently swapped her trademark dark, fringed hair-style for this bleached blonde 'do.
If nothing else, she does have the brightly coloured plastic frames on trend.
I've lost count of how many celebrities, models and socialites have jumped onto the over-crowded bandwagon that is the fringe trend. All I know is, we can add Rachel Bilson to the list. And I have to say, she looks as cute as a button.
2008's fringe takes it's cues from Kate Moss' hair; thick, a bit messy, just-out-of-bed... too fine and the sex-kitten effect is lost. And so, Rachel's hair is perfect for it.
