Agyness Rips it Up

Written by Allan Barger on 11.06.08

While Agy has been dropped from Burberry (for apparently being over exposed), and ends up in our Celebrity... What The? thread, she's also sporting a trend we've been seeing a little bit of lately - ready to take a guess? It's the ripped denim trend of course.

So is it good or is adding to her uhhh... over exposure? Also does it look better on Natasha Poly?

Megan Fox in the backless trend

Written by Tania Braukamper on 11.06.08

It's not completely backless or as low-cut as some of the other backless trend examples we've seen, but Megan Fox's white and silver mini-dress certainly captured the essence of highlighting one's back.

One-shoulder fashion trend for 2008 and 2009

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 09.06.08

Legs and breasts are often a girl's best fashion accessory, but if neither are your strongest features, or you're after something a little less cliche but equally sensual, look to your shoulders and indulge in both the backless fashion trend and the one-shoulder / single-shoulder trend. Both are key components of women's Spring/Summer 2008 fashion trends and Spring/Summer 2009 fashion trends.

Natasha Poly: hotter than most in torn denim

Written by Tania Braukamper on 07.06.08

If you thought the ripped denim trend couldn't look hot, think again. Natasha Poly does the job just fine (well actually, she's smoking hot) in the June/July 2008 issue of Vogue Paris.

Poly models ripped jeans, shorts and jackets - paired with super-hot thigh-high boots - for the shoot. There are more photos from the shoot here, be sure to check them out.

Ashley Olsen wears the tuxedo trend

Written by Tania Braukamper on 03.06.08

We've seen plenty of the tuxedo trend for women this year, as predicted... and it's still going strong. Ashley Olsen wore a man-style tux to the CDFA awards yesterday.

I like the shirt and jacket, but the cut of the pants and overly-open shoes aren't quite doing it for me. What do you think?

Kate Moss wears the lace-up shoe trend

Written by Tania Braukamper on 30.05.08

Kate Moss was spotted at Punk nightclub in London wearing a classic little black dress, her trademark bed-hair and some ankle boots that combine two of 2008's biggest shoe trends: pointed toes and laces.

Ripped Denim: fashion trend 2009, 2010

Written by Tania Braukamper on 26.05.08

Ripped denim hasn't really been big since the grunge days of the 90s... so it may come as a surprise that it is back as a fashion trend for women in Spring-Summer 2008. Kate Moss wore ripped denim shorts in a shoot for April 2008's Vogue Paris, and then we spotted these shots of Gisele Bundchen on set with Mario Testino in a rather revealing torn denim outfit.

On the runways, Christopher Kane's Spring/Summer 2008 collection brought faded and torn skinny jeans back onto the agenda. Maison Martin Margiela's collection was also littered with shredded up denim pieces (below, right) that took ripped denim to the extreme.

Diane Kruger goes 1920's-inspired at Cannes

Written by Tania Braukamper on 24.05.08

2008 saw a trend towards 1920's flapper inspired fashion, which has remained fairly subtle and will probably not get to mainstream status this time around. Diane Kruger wore a rather flapper-esque yet elegant outfit to Cannes last week.

I think she managed to pull off this look - but apparently, not many of you are in agreement. Click on the image to cast your vote.

Going for a Solar Trend in 2009

Written by Allan Barger on 22.05.08

So being empowered is cool, but how about generating your own power? Late last year one of our Christmas desires was the Logan bag from Noon Solar. It wasn't the prettiest thing in the world but I thought it was pretty cool. Today I stumbled (thanks boing boing) on C'N'C CoSTUME NATIONAL's take on the idea, again it's not an exactly revolutionary design but it's certainly an improvement. Below is the Logan from Noon Solar compared to the new C'N'C bag, and after a jump an interview with it's designer Ennio Capasa.
