Trend Evolution - Turbans and Headbands

Written by Tania Braukamper on 09.06.07

Headbands used to be worn around the head going under the hair, but somewhere in the not-so-distant past all that changed. All of a sudden stars have been seen with them over the top of their hair. Is Miuccia to blame for this trend?

Ashley Olsen wears the suit trend

Written by Tania Braukamper on 04.06.07

You may recall my ramblings from the other day about 10 ways to make a suit look hot right now. The idea is be interesting and 'now' in the way a suit (or element of it) is worn - whether it's to work, casually or for the evening.

Ashley Olsen was spotted at the Swarovski CFDA Nominee and Honoree Dinner in New York the other day wearing another example of the oversized jacket and leggings trend we mentioned. I think she pulls it off quite well.

Have you noticed that Mary-Jane has had a make over? Once confined to school-girls and church-goers, Mary Jane shoes are now adorning the feet of celebrities, starlets and wild child party animals everywhere.

Patchwork... Again?

Written by Paula Teixeira on 30.05.07

I was lead to believe that the days of patchwork pieces had gone with the 2003 hippie trend. I was so wrong! Because if Miss Selfridge is stocking it, it has to be a trend... again, right??? Well, I don't know what to think about it!

Jessica Simpson loves her Louis Vuitton bags. It seems like Jessica has at least one bag from every leather collection the French fashion house make, except for the Epi leather collection.

The Maxi Dress Trend

Written by Ren on 28.05.07

Perhaps almost as a slap in the face to the Mini Dress Trend, celebrities have been spotted around wearing long, ankle length casual dresses. It's a shock to the system after wearing teeny tiny dresses for so long.

Jessica Biel was seen playing ball with a dog in the park, wearing a long figure hugging blue dress. The Olsens have been known to dress up their long dresses as well as wearing long black skirts casually with oversized sunnies.

10 ways to wear a suit, right now

Written by Tania Braukamper on 27.05.07

A classic suit may be forever; but suits can also be brought up-to-date with a few easy wardrobe tricks. Here are ten of the hottest ways to make your work-wear more interesting, right now:

1. Take an oversized suit jacket and wear it as a mini-dress. Take a long or oversized jacket, put it over an equally-oversized singlet or shirt; add opaque tights, some sexy pumps and there you have it! If the jacket isn't quite long enough to be worn as a dress, add a super-short, super-tight black miniskirt.

2. Try it with wide-leg, high-waist pants. Tuck in a shirt or tee, add a great belt. This won't be suited to everybody, but can certainly work if done right.

3. Add a vest and make it a three-piece. Wear all three matching, or contrast one of the pieces against the other two.

Boho is dead, long live Foho

Written by Daniel P Dykes on 18.05.07

Unless you've been living in a country sadly devoid of a fashion sense, it'll come as no surprise to you to hear that the Boho look is dead. Actually, let's expand on that. As a major trend, it's certainly no longer mainstream - but don't go throwing out your clothing and boots just yet, we're sure they've still got plenty of wear left in them depending on how you match and accessorise them. After all, if you couldn't get away with it we wouldn't have given you tips for getting Boho bed hair only yesterday, would we?

But what's the replacement?
